Description
Overview
The B2 Compact takes the total-exhaust principle and reduces the cabinet to a 3 ft or 4 ft footprint, for pharmacies and laboratories where the duct exists but the floor space does not.
It keeps the parts that matter for containment — ULPA exhaust filter, negative pressure plenum, pressure sensor, bag-out access — and reduces the working depth instead of the safety margin. The motorised sash and the LCD controller are standard.
It is used in hospital pharmacies with a single compounding room, and in laboratories where hazardous work is occasional rather than continuous.
Key features
- Total exhaust in 3 ft. A 3 ft cabinet with 100% external exhaust, for rooms where a 6 ft B2 will not fit.
- Motorised sash and LCD controller. Sash position, airflow and filter load on one display, with alarm history.
- Negative pressure plenum. The shell is held below room pressure, so leaks move air inward.
- Duct collar sized on the datasheet. The exhaust volume for each width is stated, so the HVAC engineer can size the duct before delivery.

Where you would install it
- Hospital pharmacy. A single compounding room with a duct but limited floor space.
- Occasional hazardous work. Total exhaust without a dedicated cytotoxic suite.
- Satellite laboratories. Hazardous sample handling away from the main containment laboratory.
Frequently asked questions
Is a 3 ft B2 cabinet practical for compounding?
For single-operator, small-volume compounding it is. If you routinely prepare batches for a whole hospital, take the 4 ft or 6 ft so the work zone is not the constraint.
Does it need a bag-out port?
Yes, and it is fitted as standard. Changing the exhaust filter without one would open the contaminated plenum to the room.
