APPLICATIONS

Temperature & Humidity Incubators Applications & Use Cases

Application-led selection for real laboratory workflows.

Condensation, drainage and door sealing

At high humidity the door glass fogs and condensate runs to the floor of the chamber. A heated door and a drain with a trap keep the chamber usable; a poor gasket produces a permanent wet patch and a false humidity reading.

Recovery after loading and power loss

Every door opening dumps the humidity. How fast the chamber returns to setpoint decides whether a stability study is disturbed and how long a technician must wait before loading. Some controllers offer a humidity recovery mode; others simply run the humidifier at full output.

PERFORMANCE & SELECTION

Two loops, two failure modes

A humidity chamber runs a temperature loop and a humidity loop. The humidity sensor drifts, the humidifier scales, and the chamber condenses water on the coldest surface. A unit that holds 25 °C and 60 %RH well may struggle at 40 °C and 90 %RH, where the absolute moisture load is much higher.

  • Specify the temperature and humidity pair you actually need, not the extremes separately
  • Ask for the humidity deviation at that pair
  • Check whether the humidity reading is compensated for temperature

CONFIGURATION & COMPATIBILITY

How the humidity is generated

Ultrasonic humidifiers respond quickly but carry dissolved solids into the chamber; steam humidifiers are cleaner but slower; water-pan evaporation is simple but limited in range. The choice affects both the water quality you must supply and the maintenance interval.

  • Confirm the humidifier type and the water quality it requires
  • Check the refill interval and whether a water inlet can be plumbed
  • Ask how scale is removed from the humidifier and the reservoir
