Walk-In Climate Chambers & Rooms

Above roughly 2,500 litres a climate chamber stops being a product and becomes a construction project. The walls arrive as insulated panels, the refrigeration is a remote condensing unit, and the performance depends as much on the room as on the equipment. This family covers the pre-engineered stability rooms and the custom modular temperature-humidity rooms built on that principle.

APPLICATIONS

Walk-In Climate Chambers & Rooms Applications & Use Cases

Application-led selection for real laboratory workflows.

Redundancy for a 36 month study

A room serving a stability programme cannot be down for a week, so redundancy is part of the specification.

Installation sequence

Most walk-in projects slip on site readiness rather than on manufacturing.

PERFORMANCE & SELECTION

The room is a building, not a cabinet

A walk-in room has to be designed against the space it will occupy, and that changes the buying process.

  • The floor plan fixes the volume
  • the door position fixes the sample flow
  • the ceiling height fixes the airflow.
  • The floor loading matters: a loaded room can carry 1,500 kg/m², which most laboratory floors are not rated for.
  • The condensing unit sits outside the room, so the route for refrigerant pipework has to exist.
  • Commissioning includes a mapping study over the empty and loaded room, and that takes days rather than hours.

CONFIGURATION & COMPATIBILITY

Humidity at room scale

Humidifying 4,500 litres is not the same problem as humidifying 250 litres, and the failure modes differ.

  • A large volume needs a steam or atomising humidifier with a drain, not a 20 L tank.
  • Condensation on the panels is controlled by the insulation thickness and the panel joint detail.
  • Uniformity of ±5 %RH across a room is achieved with air distribution, not with a bigger humidifier.
  • A room held at 30 °C / 75 %RH in a cold climate needs a heated floor or the panels will sweat.
