Description
Overview
The RDS is the dry heat sterilizer built on our 304-stainless forced air platform: a hot air convection chamber engineered to hold sterilization temperature across a full load for a validated time. The classic cycles — 160°C for two hours, 180°C for thirty minutes — run on PID control with a timer-with-hold function, so the load spends the full dwell at temperature rather than the abbreviated cycle a drifting controller gives you.
Every control function exists for sterilization. The digital timer holds at temperature until you open the door. The over-temperature alarm runs on an independent circuit. The cycle-end buzzer tells a busy clinic room the load is ready. And the ±1°C fluctuation at 100°C, carried over from the forced air platform, means the back shelf sterilizes as thoroughly as the front.
Between cycles it doubles as a general drying oven — the 304 chamber, adjustable shelves and double-layer glass window do both jobs. For loads that steam would rust, wet or spoil — glassware, metal instruments, powders, oils — this is the correct machine.
Key features
- Validated sterilization cycles. 160°C/2h and 180°C/30min programs with timer-with-hold at temperature
- ±1°C fluctuation at 100°C. forced convection carries the whole load through the cycle, not just the shelf near the sensor
- Digital timer with hold. the chamber holds at setpoint until the door opens — no drift on the dwell time
- Over-temperature alarm and cycle-end buzzer. independent circuits for unattended clinic and lab runs
- 304 stainless chamber. rounded corners, sterilization-grade cleanability between loads
- Double-layer glass window. visual check of the load without breaking the cycle
- Dual-purpose platform. the same chamber serves as a general-purpose drying oven between sterilization cycles

Where you would install it
- Glassware sterilization. flasks, beakers and pipettes for media work — dry, sterile and spot-free
- Instrument sterilization. forceps, scissors, burs and metal tools that dull or rust in steam
- Dental clinic loads. the 180°C/30min loop between patients, with a buzzer that ends the guesswork
- Powders and oils. the moisture-sensitive preparations an autoclave would spoil
Frequently asked questions
What sizes are available?
70L, 136L and 210L — benchtop footprints with shelving for full instrument trays at the top end.
Does it meet sterilization standards?
Yes — it runs the standard hot air dry heat sterilization cycles of 160°C for 2 hours or 180°C for 30 minutes, with the timer starting once the load reaches temperature.
Is there an alarm?
Yes — an over-temperature alarm on an independent circuit, plus a cycle-end buzzer so the load comes out the moment it is done.
Can I use it as a regular drying oven?
Yes — the RDS is dual-purpose: the same 304 chamber and PID control serve as a general forced air drying oven between sterilization cycles.
