Climate Chambers
A climate chamber recreates a climate, not a setpoint: temperature, humidity and light moving together through a programmed day. The WSHLab RAC artificial climate chamber puts all three variables on one microcomputer controller — 10–60°C, programmable humidity and an LED top light — so ecological simulations, insect and plant studies and product behaviour trials run on one benchtop unit. Two capacities cover the benchtop workload: 150L and 250L, both with a 304 stainless chamber, a tempered glass door window for observation without breaking the climate, and adjustable shelving for trays, cages or sample boards. Constant climate programmes run unattended, and the controller logs the state it holds. The artificial climate cabinet is the instrument ecologists, entomologists and product testers reach for when a plain incubator cannot simulate daylight or a humidity-only chamber cannot light the sample. Tell us the climate profile you need to reproduce and we will confirm the programme and quote the configuration.

Engineering the RAC climate cabinet
The RAC series packages a refrigeration circuit, ultrasonic humidification and an LED top light bank around a 304 stainless chamber with a tempered glass door window. A microcomputer controller runs PID loops for temperature and humidity with programmable light cycles, and the whole platform fits a benchtop footprint at 150L or 250L.

Where climate chambers work
Three-variable environmental simulation for research and product testing.
Insect rearing — defined photoperiod and climate states for culture and behaviour studies
Plant preconditioning — seeds and seedlings held at programmed climates before growth trials
Product testing — materials and packaging cycled through humidity and light states
Education and demonstration — visible climate science through the tempered glass window
Quality control — small-scale climate exposure where floor space is limited
What is a climate chamber?
A climate chamber — also called a climatic chamber, climatic test chamber or artificial climate cabinet — is an enclosure that simulates combined environmental conditions. In the WSHLab RAC series that means temperature, humidity and top lighting on one controller, programmed as a repeating profile: a constant climate chamber state, or a day/night cycle with temperature, humidity and light stepping together.
- Temperature, humidity and light on one controller
- 10–60°C with microcomputer PID control
- LED top light with programmable on/off cycles
- Constant climate or day/night programme profiles
Combined temperature, humidity and light
Most chambers control two variables at most; ecological reality runs three. The RAC series pairs its humidification circuit with an LED top light bank, so a programme can hold a constant climate — say 25°C/70% RH under continuous light — or step through a diurnal cycle with the light. The tempered glass window lets the study be observed without disturbing the state, and the stainless chamber cleans between studies.
- Programmable humidification holds the dew point the profile demands
- LED top light simulates daylight intensity for the sample plane
- Diurnal cycles: temperature, humidity and light step together
- 304 stainless chamber with tempered glass observation window

What sizes are available?
The RAC series runs 150L and 250L benchtop capacities, both with the 304 stainless chamber and tempered glass window.
Does it control humidity?
Yes — programmable humidification is built in, so constant climate states and diurnal humidity cycles both run on the same controller.
What light does it provide?
An LED top light with programmable on/off cycles, positioned for uniform illumination at the sample plane for day/night simulation.
What is the temperature range?
10–60°C under microcomputer PID control.
