Small footprint, full-specification temperature humidity control

Benchtop Environmental Chambers

A benchtop environmental chamber does the same job as its floor-standing sibling — precise, documented temperature and humidity control — in a footprint that fits the bench where the work actually happens. The RHS-B series packs the 7-inch touchscreen programmer, 304 stainless chamber and ultrasonic humidification of the full-size platform into 50L, 100L and 150L cabinets. The compact size is not a cut-down specification. Uniformity holds at ±0.5°C and ±3% RH across the loaded volume, the door carries the same double-layer tempered glass window, and data leaves over USB in the same CSV format as the 1000L cabinet. What changes is the sample count: a 50L benchtop chamber suits method development and small studies; 100L and 150L sizes carry shared-lab workloads. For laboratories specifying their first humidity-controlled workspace, a benchtop chamber is the usual starting point — prove the protocol at 50L, then scale to a floor-standing cabinet with the same controller and the same documentation. Tell us your bench width and your protocol and we will confirm the fit and quote the configuration.

TECHNICAL DATA

Engineering the RHS-B benchtop series

The benchtop platform uses the same balanced refrigeration and ultrasonic humidification circuit as the floor-standing RHS-F, scaled to the smaller volume so that uniformity is engineered, not compromised. The 304 stainless chamber has rounded corners and a draining condensate path; the controller is the identical 7-inch touchscreen programmer.

Applications

Where benchtop chambers work

Small-volume temperature humidity studies across R&D, QC and teaching.

Teaching laboratories — demonstrating climate control on a bench footprint

Pilot lines — validating assemblies and materials at manageable scale

Shared laboratories — one compact chamber serving multiple small studies

Stability pre-screening — early humidity exposure before committing stability-batch space

PERFORMANCE & SELECTION

What is a benchtop environmental chamber?

A benchtop environmental chamber is a temperature and humidity controlled enclosure sized to sit on a laboratory bench rather than the floor. In the WSHLab RHS-B series that means a 50L, 100L or 150L working volume, a depth that stays inside a standard 750mm bench, and a full specification: 0–60°C, 40–95% RH, 7-inch touchscreen programming and USB export.

  • 50L, 100L and 150L capacities on a 750mm bench
  • 0–60°C and 40–95% RH — the same envelope as the floor-standing models
  • 7-inch touchscreen, 100 segments, self-tuning PID
  • Runs from a standard outlet; no dedicated wiring

CONFIGURATION & COMPATIBILITY

Small and compact, without the compromise

A small environmental chamber usually trades specification for size. The RHS-B keeps the uniformity data — ±0.5°C across the working volume, ±3% RH — because the airflow circuit is scaled with the chamber, not borrowed from a bigger model. The compact chamber still runs damp heat and steady-state programmes unattended, protected by over-temperature and over-humidity alarms.

  • Compact footprint, full ±0.5°C / ±3% RH uniformity
  • Same controller and data format as the 1000L cabinet
  • Quiet enough for a shared laboratory bench
  • Over-temperature and over-humidity alarms on every unit

Traceability

Traceability and documentation

A compact chamber still ships with the documentation a regulated lab will ask for.

  • Calibrated temperature and humidity sensors with identifiable certificates
  • Serialized records kept for the unit's lifetime
  • Onboard logging and USB CSV export for study files
  • Factory test data archived against each serial number

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Benchtop Environmental Chambers: frequently asked questions

The questions buyers ask most often when specifying Benchtop Environmental Chambers, answered by our technical team.

What sizes are available?

The RHS-B benchtop series runs 50L, 100L and 150L. All three fit a standard 750mm laboratory bench.

Will it fit on my bench?

Yes — the 50L fits with clearance on a 750mm bench; 100L and 150L units use most of the bench width. Send us the bench dimensions and we will confirm the fit including service clearance.

What is the temperature range?

0–60°C with ±0.5°C uniformity. Humidity runs 40–95% RH with ±3% uniformity on the same unit.

Does it have humidity control?

Yes — full 40–95% RH control with ultrasonic humidification and 100-segment touchscreen programming, identical to the floor-standing platform.
