Overview
The MJ is a mould incubator that controls the two variables fungi actually respond to: temperature and relative humidity. Yeast and mould enumeration at 25°C/90% RH, environmental isolates at 30°C/80% RH, pharmacopoeial fungal limits — all hold steadily, because humidification is an active closed loop here, not a water dish left to evaporate.
Cross-contamination is the mycology lab’s tax on carelessness, so the MJ is built to be reset between species: a 304 stainless chamber with rounded corners, shelves and humidifier components that lift out for sterilisation, and a UV-C lamp that runs on a programmable decontamination cycle when the chamber is empty. The double-door design — outer seal, inner glass — keeps a multi-day enumeration from costing its conditions every time someone checks the plates.
The touchscreen programmer stores 100 segments of temperature and humidity profiles and logs the run to USB as CSV/PDF. Three chambers — 100L, 250L, 400L — run from a single mycology bench to a production QC lab.
