Description
Overview
The SPX is a biochemistry incubator with its own refrigeration circuit: an inverter compressor cools below ambient so setpoints from 5°C to 60°C hold regardless of the weather. For BOD5 water testing at 20°C, bacterial culture at 30-37°C, and low-temperature enumeration, that compressor is the difference between a defensible result and a drift alert — and it runs frost-free at refrigerator noise levels.
The chamber is arranged for bottle racks as much as petri dishes: 304 stainless interior with rounded corners, adjustable shelves, and a double door — magnetic-sealed outer door, glass inner door — so you count samples without dropping the whole chamber’s stability. The touchscreen programmer stores 100 segments in fixed or program mode: day/night profiles, week-long studies, or the plain 20°C five-day BOD hold.
Every run logs to USB as CSV or PDF — the incubation conditions your compliance file needs write themselves. Four chambers, 80L to 400L, run from a single BOD bench to a full water-quality laboratory.
Key features
- Heating and refrigeration in one chamber. 5-60°C setpoints hold against ambient swings; the inverter compressor is low-noise and frost-free
- Inverter compressor. refrigerator-level noise with full cooling capacity — quiet enough for a shared laboratory
- Double door with inner glass window. magnetic-sealed outer door plus glass inner door: inspect the load without a full chamber opening
- Touchscreen 100-segment programmer. fixed and program modes for BOD5 holds, day/night cycles and multi-phase studies
- USB CSV/PDF export. incubation history exports directly into compliance and audit files
- 304 stainless interior. rounded corners and removable shelves wipe clean between studies
- Over-temperature alarm. independent protection guards long unattended incubations

Frequently asked questions
What sizes does the SPX come in?
80L, 150L, 250L and 400L. All four share the touchscreen programmer, compressor cooling and double-door glass window; larger chambers add shelf count for BOD bottle racks.
What temperature range does it cover?
5-60°C with ±0.5°C fluctuation — the 20°C BOD5 condition and 30-37°C culture setpoints both hold steadily, frost-free.
Does it have a glass window?
Yes — a double-door design: the outer door seals magnetically and the inner glass door lets you inspect without disturbing chamber conditions.
How many program segments does the controller store?
100 segments in fixed or program mode, enough for day/night cycles and multi-phase studies; runs export to USB as CSV or PDF.
Does it export data?
Yes — USB CSV/PDF export of incubation history, plus RS485 for remote monitoring.
